InSight Magazine
"a magazine for customers, by customers"
"We read everything we are sent and it’s all fantastic"
InSight magazine is full of articles written by and with service users across the wide range of services provided by Housing with Care and Support. The magazine publishes service users’ stories, poems, artwork, news, awards, photos and notices that are relevant to service users from NCHA.
All the stories in InSight are written in the customers own words, either by service users themselves with or without the support of project staff or in some cases they are written by the InSight Reporters who visit other projects to get the stories for the magazine.
The magazine is published quarterly by the InSight Editorial group and every HWCS service user receives a copy. The magazine is also sent to key stakeholders of NCHA and is available to view on the company website, to look at the latest edition of InSight please click here.
InSight Editorial Group
"I would like to view these (General Stories and Day in the Life of...) and help decide on and improve content."
In the Summer 2006 edition of InSight it was the first time service users had been editors of the articles that others had sent in - this group came to be known as the InSight Editorial Group.
"After lots of talking and making decisions we agreed that from now on, all stories and articles would be passed onto us for editing before going to staff who put the magazine together."
Each member of the group has their own section of the magazine as well as supporting the editing of the magazine as a whole. Some of these sections include: "A Day in the Life of...", "Religion and Faith", "Environment/Green Section" and "Wildlife in your area."
